The Sayreville Borough Democratic Chairman was arrested and charged with accepting bribes, authorities said Thursday. Thomas V. Pollando, 72, of Parlin, faces charges of bribery in official matters and receipt of unlawful benefit by public servant for official behavior, according toThe charges stemmed from “electronic surveillance” conducted by the prosecutor’s office of an unnamed business in Sayreville in July and August, according to Ciccone.
