Kelly's victory deals a major blow to GOP hopes of capturing the Senate, with Democrats now needing only one more seat to retain control.
Masters' defeat came after Arizona's Maricopa County released another batch of votes on Friday night, which expanded Kelly's lead and put a Republican comeback out of reach. Democratic Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kate Hobbs also expanded her lead, although Republican candidateIn addition,has projected that Republican Arizona secretary of state candidate Mark Finches, who was endorsed by Trump, will lose to Democrat Adrian Fontes.
"This election has exposed deep flaws in Maricopa County's election administration," the statement reads."Arizona deserves better transparency, certainty, efficiency — and most importantly, an accurate and prompt announcement of election results that can be accepted by all voters."
