Democrat Jay Jones has won Virginia’s election for attorney general despite turmoil late in his campaign over texts he sent in 2022 embracing violence against a fellow lawmaker. Jones defeated Republican incumbent Attorney General Jason Miyares on Tuesday in a campaign centered on Jones’ criticism of the Trump administration.
