The singer, who now calls July 24 her “miracle day,” opened up on Instagram through a note she shared with fans. “Feeling so grateful so I wrote something…,” she said in the caption of a video that shows her riding in a car with her eyes closed, per“Today is my miracle day,” she wrote. “I’m so blessed to have one. It represents how the doctors at Cedars Sinai saved my life. How my life has become something beyond my wildest dreams.
“It’s not just because I fell in love , but because over the past 2 years, I’ve done more work on myself than I have in my entire life,” she explained. “Things that used to keep me down for weeks or even months, pass like tropical storms because my relationship with God has provided me infinite security. Long before I had an engagement ring on my finger, I had the word ‘me’ to remind myself that no matter what, I vow to love myself. You can’t fully love another without loving yourself first.
Demi has been open with fans about how her journey to self-love took some major twists and turns. In January,that she still struggles with self doubt, but she takes the time to reflect and push forward. “"When I'm struggling or when I'm going through a rough time, I look towards the future for hope and to change my perspective on things," she said at the time.
Now, she’s taking the time to reflect and show her gratitude, especially through her spirituality. “Thank you God for this peace and understanding but most of all giving me the strength to fight through my darkest times,” she wrote in her note. “Thank you to my family, friends and fans for always supporting me and respecting my privacy regarding this journey. I love you all.”
