Former NBA player Delonte West was arrested after being found unconscious at a section of Fair Haven Avenue and Richmond Highway in Virginia on Nov. 3, West was so intoxicated that he was arrested for his own safety, police said, adding that they offered to take West to the hospital and he refused.
Fairfax County PD said they responded to a call with EMS regarding a male found unconscious, and when they found West he was breathing. He was later charged with resisting arrest. West, the 24th overall pick by the Celtics in the 2004 NBA Draft, has publicly dealt with mental health struggles, substance abuse and bipolar disorder.
