Hundreds of delivery riders on Sunday protested along Tomas Morato in Quezon City over the alleged unfair labor practices of ride-hailing company Grab.
Members of the National Union of Food Delivery Riders opposed the implementation of Grab’s new fare matrix, saying it would greatly reduce their “already meager earnings.”
The delivery riders contradicted the claim of Grab that it is facing financial difficulties, noting that it can afford to get the services of “high-caliber” endorsers. The riders also accused Grab of inadequacy in their health insurance, saying what the company offered was only medical reimbursement.
