Three major food delivery companies have announced new efforts to stop people without a right to work from using their apps.

It is vital that we shut down any loophole that allows it to happen.” Deliveroo, which said it took its responsibilities to prevent the misuse of its platform “extremely seriously”, became the first of the delivery giants to roll out a new substitute registration feature earlier this month. It includes right to work checks on the substitute riders and verification technology.
One rider shared this photo with i showing a message from Deliveroo seeking verification of who was fulfilling orders. It was received earlier this week Henry Chango Lopez, the IWGB’s General Secretary, said: “Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat have built their businesses through the blood and sweat of couriers.”The IWGB rejected claims that migrants are undercutting wages and risking public safety, saying: “We reject these attempts at division: we are clear that low wages are the result of decisions by bosses and politicians, not migrants.
Uber Eats said: “At Uber Eats we are going to roll out identity verification checks to help ensure only those who legitimately use someone else’s account to earn with us are able to, and we are pleased to be working with Government to find a solution.”
