A Ukrainian defence official has revealed why his country is calling for the Australian government to send over its Aussie-made Hawkei armoured vehicles.
A Ukrainian defence official says Australian-made Hawkei armoured vehicles will help his country defend against Russian drones and cruise missiles which are a"big threat" to the population.
According to reports, the Australian Defence Department has ruled out sending over any of Australia’s Hawkeis because the entire fleetBut, Ukraine has continued to request the vehicles, claiming the fault is “not an issue” for them. “The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations has been very active in advocating for Australian Government to send Ukraine the Hawkeis,” Mr Sak said.
Mr Sak said Iranian-made Shahed drones and cruise missiles were both a “big threat” to the Ukrainian population. “It's one thing when adults have to wake up at 3am in the morning and run to shelter, but think about the children.
