In upcoming episodes Joel invites her out for a drink, explaining that he wants to pick her brains about US law – a subject she is very familiar with as she previously worked in America.
It’s all an excuse for Joel who really wants to spend time with Dee-Dee, but she takes him literally and turns up with a pile of textbooks having completely failed to understand that it’s a date.To be fair to Joel he’s not easily deterred and he admits that he’s not that interested in US law at all and it was just an excuse to ask her out. He suggests they could have dinner together, now they’ve clarified it will be an actual date.
Sadly Dee-Dee is genuinely busy for the next few nights, but this time it’s Joel’s turn to misunderstand the situation and he thinks she’s giving him the brush-off.
