Doug Shields, 53, was charged with statutory sexual assault and other charges stemming from the 2021 incidents with a 15-year-old girl.
The one-time chief of a Cumberland County ambulance company has been charged with sexually assaulting a teen “ride-along” member over the course of several months in 2021.
Shields, now 53, was released on bail pending a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for March 22. Shields’ release is conditioned on him having no contact with the victim, and only supervised contact with other minors, court officials said. The girl also said she went to Shields’ home one time, where he also tried to convince her to have sex with him.
Police said Shields also gave conflicting answers as to whether he’d ever taken the girl to his Mountain Street home. But investigators noted the victim had been able to provide them with pictures of a unique clock inside Shields’ home that seemed to confirm she had been there.
