A DEBT-ridden husband who murdered his wife before spinning a chilling web of lies to cash in on her £450,000 life insurance has been jailed.He then put on a haunting "act" as he sought to cover his tracks after amassing more than £300,000 in debt.He then called emergency services at around 2am to claim he had found Sian "face down on the bed".In a chilling 999 audio call released by police, Hammond added: "I'm going to flip her over now.
But in reality, Sian was already dead - with a paramedic later revealing Hammond made no such attempt to save his wife.He claimed he had sex with Sian, showered then went downstairs at about midnight while his wife stayed upstairs toA fitness device also revealed a "spike" in his heart rate between 11.56pm and 12.19am.
Around £200,000 of this was to Legal and General, with Hammond telling an agent to call him on the day of his wife's death "suggesting something may have changed by then".
