Hours after slamming into Florida as a category 1 hurricane early Monday, Debby was downgraded to a tropical storm. Debby made landfall just after 7 a.m. near the northern Florida community of Steinhatchee.Despite now being a tropical storm, Debby is still producing 70 mph winds and heavy rain. Catastrophic flooding is expected across the Southeast — from Florida’s Big Bend to Savannah, Georgia, to Charleston, South Carolina.
