BREAKING: Death toll jumps to 34,796 after another 160 die in the UK
The UK has now far surpassed coronavirus-struck Italy and Spain to have the highest death toll in Europe.who is showing Covid-19 symptoms is now eligible for a test in the UK.Today’s figures come after ‘losing sense of taste or smell’ was officially added to the NHS’ list of coronavirus symptoms ‘Anyone with a new continuous cough, a high temperature or the loss or change of sense of taste or smell can book a test by visiting nhs.uk/coronavirus.
He said it would mean 93% of cases where people have symptoms would now be picked up – a rise from 91% previously.and a lack of movement are also being analysed as a potential ‘serious’ coronavirus symptoms, the World Health Organisation has warned.It said: ‘Serious symptoms: Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain or pressure, loss of speech or movement. Seek immediate medical attention if you have serious symptoms. Always call before visiting your doctor or health facility.
If a symptomatic person lives with others, they should stay at home for seven days, while all other household members should stay home for 14 days even if they do not have symptoms.For those not needing medical attention, the NHS recommends taking paracetamol, resting and drinking a lot of fluids. Those suffering with a cough should also try not to lie on their back.
