Deadpool giving a thumbs up with the Living Tribunal and Eternity behind him.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Deadpool famously has one of the most powerful healing factors in the Marvel Universe, as there aren’t many people who can be decapitated or totally obliterated and get back up .

However, during one particular storyline, Deadpool utterly outdoes even himself by proving he’s immune to Marvel’s most powerful god. In Deadpool Team-Up #899 by Fred Van Lente and Dalibor Talajic, Deadpool has teamed up with Hercules, and the two are trapped in a labyrinth built by Arcade. However, the labyrinth is secretly being powered by the otherworldly magic of a being who has proven himself to be even more powerful than Marvel’s strongest gods: Nightmare. Close Hercules offended Nightmare during one of their previous encounters, so he sought to make him pay - and Deadpool was just along for the ride. While Nightmare saw Deadpool as nothing more than an additional inconvenience in his plan to torment Hercules, he soon learned that Wade was far more than that. When Deadpool realized Nightmare’s powers were controlling the hellish maze, he severed his own corpus callosum, meaning Nightmare’s dream-based powers had no effect on the Merc with a Mouth, leading to Nightmare’s ultimate defeat. Related Deadpool Officially Reveals His Daughter's "Hyper-Receptive" Superpower Deadpool's daughter Ellie has basically been forgotten in Marvel Comics, but now she's back with all-new superpowers, including being hyper-receptive. Why Deadpool Defeating Nightmare is His Most God-Tier Trick Yet Marvel #4 “Overture” by Alex Ross, Steve Darnall, and Kurt Busiek While Deadpool’s trick against Nightmare may seem like a run-of-the-mill Deadpool gag, it’s actually one of the most god-tier feats he’s ever pulled off, and Nightmare’s storyline in “Overture” proves it. In “Overture”, Nightmare decides to try to take over the entire Marvel Universe. In that effort, Nightmare kills Galactus, an army of Celestials, and even Ego the Living Planet before confidently challenging the likes of Eternity and the Living Tribunal. Nightmare channeled his power from the Dream Dimension - within which he is a true god - to use it against Marvel’s strongest entities, and effectively came out on top. And that’s why the fact that Deadpool defeated Nightmare by severing the connection between the left and right sides of his brain is so incredibly impressive - perhaps, even, the most impressive victory Deadpool has ever won. Deadpool’s Victory Over Nightmare Proves He Actually COULD Kill the Marvel Universe The Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe books are way over exaggerated, especially in regard to Deadpool’s power level. Sure, most of the heroes and villains Deadpool kills would actually lose in a fight to the death against Wade, but the idea that he could kill the Marvel Universe is laughable. Except, that’s not true anymore. Deadpool can defeat Nightmare, and Nightmare can defeat the strongest beings in the universe. That means, if Deadpool really did decide to kill the Marvel Universe, he’d have to find a way to get Nightmare to launch an attack like he did in “Overture”, wait until he’s victorious, and then use this trick to beat him. At that point, Deadpool would actually be successful in killing the Marvel Universe - no meta over exaggeration required. Related 10 Best Deadpool Quotes in Marvel Comics, Ranked Deadpool's one of the most popular characters in Marvel Comics, and that's mostly due to the absurd things he says. Here's his 10 best quotes, ranked! While the implications of Deadpool’s victory over Nightmare are fascinating, and a lot of fun to consider, the biggest takeaway isn’t what Deadpool could do with this trick, but what he’s already done. By utilizing his healing factor , Deadpool made himself immune to Marvel’s most powerful god.
