Palestine is reportedly able to afford such payments due to assistance from larger countries throughout the European Union.
People take part in a Palestine Solidarity Campaign demonstration near the Israeli Embassy, in Kensingston, London, as the death toll rises amid ongoing violence in Israel and Gaza following the attack by Hamas, Monday, Oct. 9, 2023.
The 50 Hamas terrorists currently being held as prisoners in Israel will also receive monthly salaries starting at 1,400 shekels per month and rising as high as 12,000 shekels monthly.PMW places the current award figures at 11,170,000 shekels or $2,807,021, though it notes the number is a “low estimate.”
Palestine is able to afford such payments, PMW says, due to assistance from larger countries throughout the European Union. “The Palestinian Authority should be sending a big thank you to the EU countries and Norway, currently the largest funders of the PA because the PA could not possibly make these terror payments without them,” the group says. “These donor countries like to pretend that it’s not their money rewarding terrorists, but everyone knows that the PA could not reward terrorists without this generous foreign funding.
