A man’s body sat undetected for five hours before a cleaner eventually found him.
He had boarded the Cross County service at Manchester Piccadilly at 9.27am on Saturday but no-one knew he was dead until the train was in the depot in Bournemouth because staff though he was sleeping.: ‘Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, conductors have been ordered not to interact with passengers.and making sure everyone is OK, as they usually do.
They added: ‘This poor fellow was dead on the train five hours before being found, which is heartbreaking in a civilised society.’A spokesman for CrossCountry said interaction with their customers is currently reduced to maintain the recommended distance from others.
