The Drug Enforcement Administration said two special agents were involved in the shooting on Whiteman Street earlier in the afternoon. They were working on an ongoing drug investigation. Neither was injured.
One of the suspects was shot in the leg and taken to Hackensack Medical Center and his arrest was pending, the agency said.There was a massive police presence in the area. The ground was littered with evidence markers and a crashed car was nearby here with multiple bullet holes in the windshield, CBS2's Tim McNicholas reported."I was finishing up for a client. I heard some cops, looked over my shoulder and saw a bunch of cops," Tom Ko said.
The jeweler expressed how surprising the incident was for Fort Lee, adding what happened Tuesday was the first time, to his knowledge, any kind of crime happened in the area.
