The DC Universe is a massive place, there are many far-flung corners of the universe that not everyone is familiar with, and while most people know Darkseid, not everyone is familiar with the New Gods. Yet as DC launches its Absolute Universe, the New Gods are going to be introduced to a new generation of readers, as they will play a pivotal part in this brand-new reality.

Not only did Darkseid's death create the Absolute Universe, but it also created a power vacuum in the Fourth World.
The New Gods will be central to bridging the gap between DC's Prime Universe and Absolute Universe, in a brilliant way to bring these characters back into relevance.
