The Washington, D.C., attorney general has opened an investigation into the busing of immigrants from GOP-led states to the capital.

D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine is investigating whether authorities from Gov. Greg Abbott's Texas and other border states misled immigrants in order to send them to D.C., according to ProPublica. He spoke of how some immigrants interviewed by investigators claimed they had been misled by authorities, especially about promised services.

Racine has previously criticized the policy, saying the move used"people as props. That’s what they’ve done with the immigrants.” He also called it a"political stunt."He did not elaborate on the specifics of the inquiry, and he refused to answer further questions.“These Democrat elites in our nation’s capital know nothing about Texas’ busing operations. These migrants willingly chose to go to Washington, D.C.
