DC Pride 2026-1
DC Comics has announced its Pride lineup for 2026, and it is the publisher’s best offering yet. For the last several years, DC has celebrated Pride Month in June with a bevy of one-shots, miniseries and variant covers.
Some of these specials have been honored with the industry’s highest awards. DC has an amazing stable of LGBTQIA+ characters, and Pride Month is a great opportunity to showcase them. In the wake of attempted rollbacks of the hard-earned rights the queer community has fought for, such specials became a symbol of defiance and resilience. With this in mind, DC is kicking off its biggest Pride Month celebration to date. DC Comics’ plans for Pride 2026 are extraordinary. In addition to the usual offerings of variant covers, DC also has YA graphic novels, one-shots, bonus stories as well as a four-issue miniseries bringing together two of the publisher’s newest and most exciting queer characters, Dreamer and Galaxy. Finally, DC will offer a trade featuring its best queer-themed stories. DC Kicks Off Its Pride Celebration Early With a New Justice League One-Shot DC Will Have Something For Everyone During Its 2026 Pride Celebration, Including Young Adults Although Pride Month is not until June, DC is kicking the celebration off in late April, which sees the publication of the Justice League Intergalactic Special one-shot. Written by Jadzia Axelrod and Nicole Maines and drawn by Travis Moore, the book features Star Sapphire assembling a League squad for a mission in deep space. The Justice League Intergalactic Special will feature the first team-up between two of DC’s premiere queer characters: Dreamer and Galaxy. Galaxy, introduced in a YA graphic novel earlier, has since become a member of the Justice League. Meanwhile, Dreamer must deal with the sins of her past. A week after Justice League Intergalactic, the publisher will release a new YA graphic novel featuring Galaxy, titled As the Worlds Fall Down. Written by Axelrod and drawn by Rye Hickman, the book continues Galaxy’s journey to becoming a great hero. It is the follow-up to the previous Galaxy novel: The Prettiest Star. Dream Girls Is the First Queer-Centric Event in Super Hero Comics DC Will Supplement Dream Girls With Incredible Backup Stories Featuring Batwoman and Others The Pride Celebration continues in June with the release of Justice League: Dream Girls: A DC Pride Event. This four-issue miniseries, part of the publisher’s All In initiative, will be written by Axelrod and Maines with art by an all-star roster of top talent. Dream Girls will feature the return of classic Justice League foe The Key as well. Dream Girls will also come with bonus stories, featuring DC’s queer icons. Batwoman, Poison Ivy and Green Lantern are among the characters starring in these backup stories. DC has brought a killer lineup of talent to the table, including Batwoman creator Greg Rucka, as well as G. Willow Wilson and Morgan Hampton. While comic stories featuring queer characters are common, it is rare that they anchor a massive event such as Dream Girls. The publication of Dream Girls is a cause for celebration. It is a queer-themed story set against the backdrop of a major Justice League adventure. While comic stories featuring queer characters are common, it is rare that they anchor a massive event such as Dream Girls. The bonus stories are not throwaways either, and will have ramifications as well. DC Also Looks to the Past This Pride Month DC Will Continue Their Line of Pride-Themed Variant Covers as Well The Pride Celebration continues with the release of a LGBTQIA+ trade paperback as well as variant covers.
