The government has so far released over P389 billion in funds for its COVID-19 pandemic response. | DJEsguerraINQ

According to Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado, a total of P389.06 billion have been released to various government agencies for their pandemic response efforts as of August 28.“Ang karamihan po sa COVID-19 budget ay napunta po sa mga programang nagbibigay tulong sa ating low-income households, displaced formal and informal workers, distressed overseas Filipino workers and affected farmers and fisherfolks,” Avisado said in a televised Palace press briefing.

The bulk or P266.53 billion of the total releases was sourced from discontinued programs, activities, and projects in the 2019 and 2020 General Appropriations Act .
