'Apparently the goal was for him to do it, but he did not have the strength, so she had to carry it out for him,' police said.
A New Smyrna Beach woman could face a first-degree murder charge after fatally shooting her terminally ill husband at AdventHealth hospital in Daytona Beach Saturday morning in an incident authorities believe the couple planned together,Charges are pending against Ellen Gilland, 76, who is in custody following a standoff with police in her husband's hospital room.
"Apparently because was terminally ill, they had a conversation about it and they actually planned this approximately three weeks ago, that if he continued to take a turn for the worse, that … he wanted her to end this," Young said.
