The victims killed in the crash were part of two Victorian families visiting Daylesford together before tragedy struck.Beer garden crash victims were on a weekend family getaway Pratibha Sharma, 44, and her partner, Jatin Chugh, 30, died in the crash. Sharma’s nine-year-old daughter, Anvi, died later in hospital. The family was from Point Cook, in Melbourne’s south-west.Sharma once ran as an independent for Victorian parliament and was an active member of the Sikh community, volunteering for the Australian Sikh Support group during the pandemic.
The survivors of the crash include a 43-year-old Kyneton woman and a 38-year-old Cockatoo man, who are in hospital but stable. An 11-month-old baby boy with the pair was also injured but is recovering well after being taken to hospital with his 34-year-old mother, who was not hurt.Witnesses called the scene of the crash a “nightmare” after a white BMW SUV jumped the kerb in front of the pub and slammed into patrons sitting at picnic tables on a grassy al fresco area in front of the pub.
