Dawand Jones’ wingspan of 89 1/2 inches is the longest of any player in Senior Bowl history.
Full weigh-in results were not yet available as of Sunday night, but Jones will also certainly rank among the tallest and heaviest players in Senior Bowl history, as he was listed at 6-foot-8 and 359 pounds at Ohio State.
Jones is two former Buckeyes participating in this week’s Senior Bowl along with former Ohio State safety Ronnie Hickman. They’ll go through practices on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before playing for the National Team in Saturday’s game, which is set for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff in Mobile, Alabama and will be televised on NFL Network.
Former Ohio State defensive end Zach Harrison also initially accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl but is no longer listed on the roster for this week’s game. Jones and Hickman are two of five Buckeyes participating in pre-draft all-star games this week as former Ohio State cornerback Cameron Brown and defensive tackles Jerron Cage and Taron Vincent are in the midst of their week at the East-West Shrine Bowl. Practices at the Shrine Bowl began Saturday and will continue through Tuesday leading up to Thursday night’s game, which is set for an 8:30 p.m. kickoff in Las Vegas and will also be televised by NFL Network.
