It was a day to forget for ex-Huddersfield boss David Wagner after Leeds United’s impressive victory
Norwich City manager David Wagner has put defeat against Leeds United down to mistakes and poor decision making from his side.
With the Whites fighting back to level the scores late on, hosts Norwich sent bodies forward to attack a free kick, but a tame delivery was easily dealt with and Georginio Rutter sent Summerville away, with the Dutch winger dancing his way into the box and firing home the winner. Boos echoed around Carrow Road after Norwich lost a home game having been two goals up at the break for the first time in 67 years. Backing amongst supporters seems to have waned for the German who was subject to a flurry of speculation about his future across social media.
“We created moments and opportunities, scored two goals and were able to score more. We put in a very big effort, great commitment from the players. This hurts, but in general we have to make clear that this was a good performance and we have to be consistent on this level. If we do, we'll win games. That's the nature of football.”
