Pennsylvania Republican U.S. Senate challenger David McCormick faces an uphill battle in his bid to unseat Democratic Senator Bob Casey, according to the latest polls.The battleground state, with its 19 critical Electoral College votes, is highly contested this presidential election. However, with the balance of power in the Senate at stake, Pennsylvania's Senate race is also drawing significant attention.
The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.Newsweek reached out to McCormick's and Casey's campaign for comment via email on Saturday.November's election could change control of the Senate, making down-ballot races closely watched as the presidential election is razor thin. The upper chamber is currently controlled by the Democrats, who hold a narrow majority of 51 seats as four independents caucus with the party, while Republicans hold 49 seats.
