David and Victoria Beckham have revealed in their Netflix docu-series that the football star suffered from 'depression' as he feared for son Brooklyn amid kidnapping threats
David Beckham has opened up about his mental health battles and fears for the wellbeing of his first-born son, Brooklyn.
The 48-year-old candidly discussed the effects of being thrust into the limelight, revealing that he was diagnosed with depression. After landing back in the UK to angry fans and negative press, the sports star 'struggled to eat or sleep' and was diagnosed with clinical depression.Opening up about the experience, David said: "I don't think I've ever talked about it because I can't. I find it hard to talk about what I went through because it was so extreme. The whole country hated me."
"It's meant to be a happy moment, and it was a happy moment, of course, but I was worried. I didn't want him to come into this life at a time when I was going through what I was going through."
