This Saturday marks 13 years since someone killed a mother and grandmother on the east side of Cleveland.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - This Saturday marks 13 years since someone killed a mother and grandmother on the east side of Cleveland. Christine Malone was 45 years old and a mother of eight children.Someone cut her life short on March 28, 2013.

Christine’s body was found dumped in a vacant lot behind a gas station on East 93rd Street and Bessemer Avenue. She had been beaten and strangled.“We don’t know what happened. Why happened. Why have to be her? She didn’t bother nobody,” Johnson said. “So, just to pick her that particular day, it still don’t sit right with me.” They said their mother was missing for 11 days before she was found. They knew something was wrong right away.As years continue to pass without answers, Angelique and Shana still have hope they’ll get their day in court. “The thing is to never forget and always keep this alive to make sure we get this person caught so we can keep those people out of risk,” Malone said. “I’m not going to sit right till they find out who killed my mother,” Johnson said. “And it probably still won’t feel right then, but at least I know justice was served.” Christine Malone would now be a great-grandmother. Her family will be releasing balloons in her honor this Saturday.“We have no new updates to share on this. As always, we are committed to resolving this case. If anyone has any leads, any information, no matter how big or small, please call our Homicide Unit.”Preliminary autopsy results revealed for American college student found dead in water in Spain15-year-old killed in North Avondale was considered a missing child, police sayFugitive back in court after 19 Investigates stories led to Ohio law changeMissing persons bill passes Ohio House, could bring more answers to families
