Superintendent Ben Horsley released a pre-recorded video answering questions about the breach. He said all student records were accessed, including former students. Answering a question about how much data was compromised in the breach, Horsley said it included information for 450,000 students or former students.The data included names, date or birth, and last known addresses. Around 15 percent of those included social security numbers, Horsley said, which would be around 67,500 people. “That is significant, and I don’t want to downplay the concern there, but the other pieces that were accessible for students could be health information, if there was a health plan with the school – for instance if your student needs a prescription or something to that effect, that might be part of this data breach,” he said. Horsley said employee data was also part of the breach, including payroll and bank account information, in addition to name, address, date of birth and social security numbers.
