Dashiki | Steamy sex scenes and tiny family spaces
Those steamy scenes that were straight from e.tv’s Emmanuelle episodes ruffled a lot of feathers, but it was the debate about how these sex scenes can ambush families sharing tiny spaces that was enlightening and funny at the same time.
I know very well that uncomfortable feeling from when one was young and a kissing scene played itself out in the storyline in front of not only your mum, but umalume, aunts and grandmother in the same room. Right now, many have two TV sets so that kids can watch separate, age-appropriate programmes. But for the rest of the country’s households, the TV lounge is still a place where all family members gather.
