The list goes on and on. This is grist to the movie maker’s mill. But in South Africa, this is also reality. Criminals are brazen and it’s a free-for-all.
When I was growing up, police members were respected all round. They were the epitome of the best of society.They earned it. But today, the opposite is true. Because of how police officers conduct themselves, it’s not difficult to see why they aren’t respected in return. Instead of serving communities, they are there for their own interest.
We have been here before and clearly we don’t have the answers to the problem. Signs have been there that our country has become a place where everyone can do as they wish.
