6 Union Of Hope The Union of Hope, or Union de L'Espoir in their native language, is a large network of religious groups who share a belief in a Messiah who will be the cure to the zombie curse. Based on what Isabelle said in the first episode, they're not defined by one religious doctrine.
Isabelle lived a very different life before joining the Union as a young woman in Paris. She was a thief and a drug addict prior to the outbreak who was almost killed in a walker attack along with her sister Lily. In an attempt to save her sister, she drove to the Abbey but was unfortunately too late. Her sister died, seven months pregnant and came back as a walker while the priest and nuns performed an emergency operation to save the child.
3 The Nest The Nest is an outpost to which Daryl has been charged with delivering the boy, Laurent in exchange for the information about how he can get back home. The Nest is promised to be a central hub for the Union of Hope and potentially the place where Daryl's mission will end. Whether The Nest truly holds the keys to salvation and can help the group to achieve their intended goal remains to be seen.
