Majlis Pentadbiran Negeri yang dikawal tentera mengenakan undang-undang tentera ke atas 37 perbandaran di wilayah Sagaing, Magway, Bago dan Tanithargyi dan di negeri Chin, Kayah, Karen dan Mon, pada Feb 2, selepas melanjutkan darurat selama enam bulan lagi di negara yang dilanda perang saudara itu. “Keadaan ini diburukkan lagi dengan pemutusan internet dan telekomunikasi, khususnya di daerah-daerah di mana darurat militer dikuatkuasa,” kata Organisasi HAM di Chin melalui Twitternya pada Feb 2.
