The Old Republic's Darth Revan and Darth Bane each had left behind major legacies as Lords of the Sith in both Legends and the official canon.
During the vast Star Wars era known as the Old Republic, Darth Revan and Darth Bane existed as two of the most powerful and renowned Sith Lords in the entire galaxy. Each left behind respective legacies that would never be forgotten by Force wielders of both the light and the dark side. However, Revan and Bane lived just over 2,500 years apart in the Star Wars timeline, so there was never a chance for the two legendary Sith to meet and perhaps determine who was more powerful.
Revan would go on battle not only Darth Malak but also the Sith Emperor himself. Despite being captured and put in status for 300 years, Revan waged a mental war with the Sith Emperor in the Force, holding back the True Sith Empire's plans to attack the Republic. However, Revan's eventual freedom lead to a literal split in his soul between the light and dark sides of the Force, a division that was only restored with his death.
Ensuring his survival while orchestrating the collective demise of the existing Sith of the era, Bane rebuilt the Sith Order from nothing aside from himself and a new apprentice he'd take on named Zannah. Bane then created the notable "Rule of Two" that would continue to be implemented by the Sith Lords throughout the Star Wars timeline and on into the Skywalker saga.
Revan And Bane Almost Appeared In The Clone Wars Together As far as their dark legacies are concerned, it does seem as though both Revan and Bane made equivalent impacts both in Legends and in the official Star Wars canon.
