Close Ending with the tease that Maul might be taking over this colony in the upcoming issue of Black, White & Red, one has to wonder what Maul wants with the Remainders, especially considering that this new canonical story seems to be set before The Phantom Menace when Maul was meant to be hidden in the shadows while his master continued laying plans for the Sith's revenge.
What Does Darth Maul Want With A Remote Republic Colony? Will He Fight The Remainders? It's very strange that Darth Maul looks to be outright revealing himself to a Republic colony in this new preview. No matter how remote it might be, it's certainly a risk to Sidious' plans. There has to be some underlying reason as to why Maul has come to "Moonbender Colony", either to help himself or to somehow further the goals of his master before the events of the Skywalker saga.
