As Justice League Incarnate traverses DC's multiverse, Darkseid has taken on a new role as a DC Comics editor, and he's got some notes about who should win the day.
After being sent spiraling across the Multiverse, Darkseid has taken up a new job while on Earth-33: he's become the newest editor for DC Comics. In Justice League Incarnate #3, the greatest protectors of the Multiverse are sent to different realities after the House of Heroes self-destructed on the Bleedspace. Darkseid is among those sent to Earth-33, where he quite literally tries to write his own victory.
After the Justice League Incarnate's home base self-destructed after Darkseid's forces nearly overtook it, the superteam ended up in different realities across the DC Multiverse. Captain Carrot found himself on Earth-41, home of the Nimrod Squad and Dino-Cop. Avery Ho was taken to Earth-31, where a group of pirates immediately confronted her. Flashpoint Batman arrives in the cartoonish reality of Earth-26, home of Captain Carrot's infamous Zoo Crew.
Saxman reveals his true form, admitting to Doctor Multiverse and Superman that the"power of friendship" can't win out. It was a bold swing for Darkseid to assume the role of a DC Comics editor, as the powerful villain flexed his editorial control providing notes that nearly led to his secret victory.
The meta adventures in Justice League Incarnate #3 on Earth-33 made for a fun side-quest that embraced the silliness of comic heroes becoming their makers. Making Darkseid a DC Comics editor in disguise proved to be a great twist that poked fun at some editors' control over big storylines and events. Darkseid being adamant he wins now and loses later could also be a tease for things to come.
