US-based so-called 'Democracy Project in Turkey' is reportedly linked to a network of well-funded dark money groups promoting US foreign policy positions against Turkey
The so-called"Democracy Project in Turkey" focuses on tarnishing Turkey’s image in the United States.
The organisation has links to a network of well-funded dark money groups promoting US foreign policy positions in the Middle East that dovetail with security interests of Israel and some Arab countries, the report said. Whitson argued that the group’s focus is political as its board members defend and promote the absolute monarchies and dictatorship in some Arab countries and the apartheid state of Israel.Despite having no actual Turks publicly affiliated with the group, the Turkish Democracy Project boasts a roster heavy with hawkish former US public officials and diplomats with close ties to Israel and some Gulf Arab states.
At the centre of it all is Mark Wallace, a former George W. Bush administration ambassador to the United Nations.
