Daredevil star Deborah Ann Woll, who played Karen Page on the Netflix drama, shares one of her favorite memories working with Charlie Cox. One of the most successful Marvel TV shows to come out of the original division before the Disney+ era was Daredevil, following Matt Murdock as the protector of Hell's Kitchen. The series was one of the key shows that helped shape The Defenders franchise on Netflix before getting canceled after only three seasons.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Woll, who also starred on The Punisher, reflects upon her time in the MCU on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast. While talking about about Daredevil getting canceled, Woll also brings up one of her favorite experiences working with Cox during season 3.
"Every scene with him was a joy, but the beginning of season 3, we were going to do a flashback to the scene that just followed his reveal that “I am Daredevil” to Karen, and he and I had already had a lot of conversations about what had happened between then and the next time they met. So, when Erik Olsen, our showrunner on season 3, came in and said that he wanted to revisit that moment, he worked very closely with us, and wanted to know what had we imagined.
In the case of Woll's Karen, she was one of the principal characters throughout Daredevil, as well as Foggy Nelson. Given how much Daredevil focused on their relationship throughout the series, it makes sense that both Cox and Woll would have some input because this type of storyline is not something that can be played with too lightly. It was a pivotal moment for both characters, and it wasn't something that could be taken back.
While Woll's Daredevil character hasn't popped up in any further MCU projects, the door is open for her to revisit the franchise. Even though it won't serve as season 4, Disney+ is currently developing Daredevil: Born Again, which will be a semi-continuation of the Netflix drama, with Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin set to star. There will be 18 episodes for season 1.
