Matt Murdock looking at someone in Daredevil Born Again season 2
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 has finally arrived, and its premiere episode wastes absolutely zero time setting up the major stakes and shifting the status quo with a pretty surprising villain decision.
Beyond Wilson Fisk's Kingpin, Daredevil's biggest nemesis is undoubtedly Benjamin Poindexter aka Bullseye. However, it's very hard to predict Bullseye's story going forward in the MCU following this new season premiere. Why Bullseye Saves Daredevil At The End of Born Again Season 2, Episode 1 The final moments of Daredevil: Born Again season 2's premiere saw Daredevil trying to protect Cherry from Mayor Fisk’s Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Cherry then suffers a heart attack during the brawl, completely distracting The Man Without Fear. Beaten down and unmasked by the AVTF with his secret identity as Matt Murdock exposed, it's impossible to see how Murdock was going to get himself and Cherry out of there alive. However, the AVTF officers suddenly all drop, taken out by impossibly precise and lethal shots from outside Cherry's apartment. Then, a knife ricochets into the room and lands directly in front of Matt, engraved with the words “You’re welcome” with an all-too-familiar crosshair symbol. Remarkably, Bullseye just saved Daredevil's life at the end of Daredevil: Born Again season 2... but why? In the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, Murdock's hatred for Poindexter was pretty well established following Bullseye's murder of Foggy Nelson. Despite Poindexter's survival after being thrown off a roof by Murdock, Matt still retired as Daredevil all the same, believing he'd crossed a major moral line in his clear attempt to murder Bullseye. However, Bullseye sought major vengeance against Vanessa Fisk and Kingpin for all of their manipulations. Nevertheless, Murdock jumped in front of Poindexter's line of fire when he attempted to take out Fisk, taking a bullet meant for the Kingpin himself. Now, perhaps Bullseye feels as though he owes Matt with this new save in Daredevil: Born Again season 2 . Then again, this could also be the start of something even more complicated. Is The MCU Setting Bullseye Up For Some "Redemption"? After this first episode of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, it has to be asked if this might be the start of a dark"redemption" for Bullseye. Clearly, the first season of Born Again made it clear that Bullseye opposing Fisk doesn’t make him an ally with Daredevil. After all, Murdock wants Fisk alive to pay for his crimes and for justice to prevail via the legal system . Nevertheless, it seems as though we might be getting a Bullseye who isn't being manipulated or controlled for the first time. As such, who is Bullseye when he's operating on his own terms? Perhaps it'll look like Poindexter giving Matt his own brand of"help" in future episodes . It's not out of the question to imagine Bullseye gradually evolving into something closer to Frank Castle's Punisher. That said, it's not as if Matt will ever be able to forgive or forget what Bullseye did to Foggy and everyone else he's killed. If the premiere's ending is any indication, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 won't be continuing Bullseye and Daredevil's rivalry as it had been in the MCU. It's likely going to evolve in some pretty surprising ways, making Bullseye one of the season's most intriguing characters as the new MCU show continues. 484 9.0/10 9/10 Daredevil: Born Again 10 stars 9 stars 8 stars 7 stars 6 stars 5 stars 4 stars 3 stars 2 stars 1 star Like Follow Followed TV-MA Drama Crime Action Sci-Fi Adventure Superhero Release Date March 4, 2025 Network Disney+ Showrunner Dario Scardapane Directors Aaron Moorhead, Justin Benson, David Boyd, Jeffrey Nachmanoff Writers Jesse Wigutow, Jill Blankenship, Thomas Wong, David Feige, Grainne Godfree Cast See All Franchise Daredevil, Marvel Cinematic Universe Creator Matt Corman, Chris Ord, Dario Scardapane Powered by Expand Collapse
