Daredevil: Born Again returns for season 2, with a cast of new and familiar faces alike. The ending of Daredevil: Born Again season 1 established the status quo for a continuation: Mayor Wilson Fisk established martial law over New York City, as Matt Murdock and Karen Page began their resistance against the former Kingpin.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2’s story picks up after this, as the duo works against a corrupt system and recruits allies. Concerning the wider state of Marvel’s movies and TV shows, Daredevil: Born Again is relatively self-contained. This means that major MCU heroes like Captain America and Thor will not make an appearance in the show. However, there are broader characters from The Defenders’ Netflix timeline who are confirmed to appear alongside Matt, Karen, and several others. Alongside returning characters from season 1 and completely new faces for season 2, here is the full cast and character guide for Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Charlie Cox as Matthew Murdock/Daredevil Date of Birth: December 15, 1982 Actor: Charlie Cox is an English actor born in London. His breakout role came in 2007 as Tristan in Stardust, leading to main roles in shows like Boardwalk Empire and, of course, Daredevil. Since the latter, Cox’s main roles have come in the MCU, from Spider-Man: No Way Home and Echo to She-Hulk and, now, Daredevil: Born Again. Character: Cox plays the titular character in Daredevil: Born Again, Matt Murdock, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. After losing his sight in an accident as a child, Matt came into contact with radioactive material, drastically heightening his other senses and allowing him to “see” using them. Matt thus became Daredevil, vowing to protect New York from any and all crime. Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page Date of Birth: February 7, 1985 Actor: Deborah Ann Woll is an American actor born in New York City. Woll’s breakout role was in True Blood, eventually earning her the role of Karen Page in Daredevil. Beyond that, Woll has appeared in Queen of the Ring and God of War: Ragnarök. Character: Karen Page was originally a client of Matt and his law partner, Foggy, after being framed for a murder. Eventually, she joined their cause of taking down Wilson Fisk, even joining their firm as a secretary. Karen became a best friend of Matt and Foggy and a lover of the former, explaining her dedication to him in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin Date of Birth: June 30, 1959 Actor: Vincent D'Onofrio is an American actor born in Brooklyn, New York. D'Onofrio's earlier career saw him establish himself as a prolific character actor, thanks to roles in movies like Full Metal Jacket, The Whole Wide World, and Men in Black, the former being his breakout project. He has appeared in Jurassic World, The Magnificent Seven, Caught Stealing, and, of course, Daredevil, in the last decade or so. Character: D'Onofrio portrays Daredevil: Born Again's primary villain, Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. After a troubled upbringing, Fisk became a businessman with his hands in various illegal pies. As the kingpin of crime in New York, he came into conflict with Daredevil. After going down a more"legit" route and becoming the mayor of New York, Kingpin again became the target of the Man Without Fear. Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk Date of Birth: June 28, 1969 Actor: Ayelet Zurer is an Israeli actor born in Tel Aviv. Her earlier Hollywood appearances came in Munich, Vantage Point, and Angels & Demons. One of Zurer's breakout roles came in Man of Steel, leading to her casting in Daredevil, which further catapulted her into mainstream cinema. Character: Zurer plays Vanessa Fisk in Daredevil: Born Again, Kingpin's wife. After being the crux of the reason for Kingpin's defeat in the original Daredevil series, Daredevil: Born Again saw her return as the wife and supporter of the now-mayor. Season 2 will further explore her role in his new empire, as well as what she has done herself to stoke her enemies' hatred. Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye Date of Birth: February 24, 1984 Actor: Wilson Bethel is an American actor born in Hillsborough, New Hampshire. Bethel's well-known early roles came in shows like Generation Kill, The Young and the Restless, and Hart of Dixie. These can be considered his breakout roles, though Daredevil is by far his most mainstream, leading to shows like All Rise and Daredevil: Born Again. Character: Bethel plays Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. The original series saw him become an unhinged serial killer who hates Fisk almost as much as he hates Daredevil. In Born Again season 2, Bullseye is central to the conflict between the old enemies, partly due to his dealings with Vanessa Fisk and his desire to right his wrongs. Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones Date of Birth: December 16, 1981 Actor: Krysten Ritter is an American actor born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. Some of Ritter's bigger earlier projects included shows like Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls, as well as movies such as 27 Dresses, What Happens in Vegas, and Life Happens. Ritter's breakout role came in Breaking Bad, leading to a role in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie and her casting in Netflix's Jessica Jones. Character: Ritter plays Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Jessica was introduced in her eponymous show, in shared continuity with Daredevil. In Daredevil: Born Again season 2, Jones will be pulled into the fight against Fisk due to her previous alliance with Matt in The Defenders. Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake Date of Birth: May 10, 1999 Actor: Michael Gandolfini is an American actor born in New York City. The son of the late James Gandolfini, Michael Gandolfini has always been in the spotlight. His breakout film role came in Ocean's 8, before he portrayed his father's role, Tony Soprano, in The Many Saints of Newark. After appearances in Beau Is Afraid and Warfare, Gandolfini was cast as Daniel in Daredevil: Born Again. Character: Gandolfini plays Daniel Blake in Daredevil: Born Again, the protoge of Wilson Fisk. As deputy mayor of communications, Blake is tasked with maintaining Fisk's legal image. In season 2, this is tested, while Blake is handed more nefarious tasks on behalf of the mayor, in order to bring him further into the criminal fold. Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman Date of Birth: April 16, 1993 Actor: Arty Froushan is a British-American actor born in Hartford, Connecticut. Froushan's breakout role was in Prime Video's Carnival Row, leading to his casting in House of the Dragon, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, and, of course, Daredevil: Born Again. Character: Froushan plays Buck Cashman in Daredevil: Born Again, the new head of muscle and fixer for Kingpin. Buck is a former spy who came into Fisk's service between Netflix's series and Born Again. In Born Again season 2, Buck will continue to support Fisk's battle against vigilantes in New York. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Supporting Cast & Characters Elden Henson as Franklin 'Foggy' Nelson: Matt Murdock's best friend and former law partner. Nelson was killed by Bullseye in season 1, but Henson's return was confirmed for Daredevil: Born Again season 2, likely via flashback appearances.
