Phee Boon Poh says grassroots members want DAP to focus on more important issues such as social problems and costs of living.
BUKIT MERTAJAM: A former Penang executive councillor and DAP assemblyman says the party’s grassroots want political tensions in the state to ease.
“We have already sent a message , ‘Cool down, take a step back and see the bigger picture,” Phee Boon Poh told reporters here after an event. “Everybody looks to the party, and we want the party to concentrate on more important things,” he said, adding this included social issues and costs of living.He was asked about DAP grassroots sentiments over political tensions in Penang.
Recently, Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow claimed there was an apparent move to oust him as chief minister. He said there were people within and outside the party that wanted to “defeat” him.Chow subsequently backtracked on his claim about the plot, saying he merely spoke about how things were before the state elections.
