UCLA will need to play with a high level of confidence in order to make its first true road of the season a successful one.
Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed 18 of 23 passes for 299 yards and four touchdowns. He also had a rushing touchdown. Zach Charbonnet complemented Thompson-Robinson with 198 rushing yards and a touchdown on 22 attempts. “You just tell them what you know,” said Loya, who hauled in a 70-yard touchdown pass from Thompson-Robinson that helped the Bruins pull away from Utah in the fourth quarter last season. “It’s going to be loud. The crowd is going to be yelling the whole time whether we are in warm-ups or it’s game time. … I’ve already talked to them and I’m sure they will be fine.”
“He’s very good,” Utah football coach Kyle Whittingham said about Moore. “They’re taking the same approach they did with Dorian Thompson-Robinson, just starting him and grooming him early. He’s a different player than Dorian, a better passer but he looks good.” Safety Cole Bishop and linebacker Lander Barton, each with at least 13 tackles and an interception, are among the key playmakers on a Utah defense that has allowed 617 passing yards and 195 rushing yards through the first three games.
