Danone celebrated its 50th anniversary by signing an agreement with Ncora Dairy on October 25 to uplift and empower the community of Boksburg.
This includes producing 2 400 jerseys, crossbreed cows and milk amounting to 10.5 million litres. At least 1 200 community members living in the vicinity of the farm will be employed and others will get business opportunities, explained the operations director at Danone Southern Africa Kid Nkantsu.
“It is critical for Danone to create models that support sustainable farming and drive solid investment. He explained the agreement forms a significant part of this commitment as it aims to develop and promote regenerative models of commercial agriculture.
