President Donald Trump prior to taking office repeatedly shared plans to potentially expand the U.S. into Greenland.
Anders Vistisen, a Danish member of the European Parliament, made an open statement Tuesday to U.S. President Donald Trump, telling him Greenland is not for sale.
“Dear President Trump, listen very carefully,” he said. “Greenland has been part of the Danish kingdom for 800 years. It's an integrated part of our country.” “If the translation was correct, the term you used is not allowed in this house and there will be consequences to the message you have used,” he said. “It is not okay in this house of democracy.”Trump also has his sights set on acquiring the Panama Canal. Rep. Dusty Johnson, R-S.D., this month introduced a bill which would allow the president to acquire the waterway for the U.S., voicing concern with Chinese presence near the area.
