The original boy wizard Daniel Radcliffe discusses whether he would make a cameo appearance in Max's upcoming Harry Potter television series reboot.
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe reveals whether he would return for a cameo appearance in the upcoming television series reboot. Radcliffe first rose to fame after being cast as J.K. Rowling’s famous boy wizard for 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and would continue in the role for a further 10 years. More recently, Warner Bros. announced its intention to reboot the franchise as a television series on their freshly rebranded Max streaming service.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT During a recent interview on Deadline’s The Actor’s Side, Radcliffe was asked whether he was likely to make a cameo appearance in the planned Harry Potter reboot show. Suggesting it “would probably be weird” for him to show up in the new version, the actor reveals he has no intention to returning for the television series:
I don’t think so, no. Certainly from everything that I’ve read about the series, they’re starting fresh and would probably be weird to have me pop in… Why The Harry Potter TV Series Needs To Differentiate Itself From The Movies Despite holding an esteemed place in popular culture, reactions were mixed when Warner Bros. first announced their reboot of Harry Potter. While some considered a television series a far more appropriate medium to adapt the original books, other portions of the fandom suggested it was still too early to reboot the films that had only just finished 12 years prior.
If the Harry Potter television series is to truly succeed, however, it will need to find a way to completely differentiate itself from the films. While streaming television certainly has the potential to explore parts of the books that were ultimately cut from the big-screen adaptations, it will take far more than simply bringing back missing characters and expanding over-simplified plot points.
