When asked how the cast managed the emotional and musical demands of performing the story backward, Radcliffe admitted the musicality kept him on his toes every night. “I was stressing out more about the musical nature of it every night,” he told entertainment reporter Courtney Tezeno, noting that once the show was running, “the going backwards stuff felt very effortless.”JONATHAN GROFF as Franklin Shepard in ‘Merrily We Roll Along’ As for which of the trio’s past roles would make the “worst friend,” a nod to the play's most memorable song, the answers sparked laughs all around.
