When asked if he was joining the MCU, Daniel Craig had a simple but telling response: 'I should be so lucky.'

After rumors widely circulated claiming Daniel Craig would appear as Balder the Brave in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the actor now addresses his potential MCU future. Directed by Sam Raimi, the sequel to 2016's Doctor Strange was released earlier this year, earning generally positive reviews from critics.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In a recent interview with Phase Zero – MCU on Twitter, Daniel Craig is asked about his rumored cameo as Balder the Brave in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and addresses whether he would be interested in joining the MCU. While not revealing if there are any plans in motion for his MCU future, the star makes clear that he's open to the idea.

Who Could Daniel Craig Play In The MCU? Although many fans were left feeling disappointed after Craig failed to appear as Balder the Brave in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it's certainly possible that the actor could play the role in the future.

Of course, it's also possible that Craig could appear as a different hero in the MCU. Considering his British heritage and action hero career as James Bond, Captain Britain may also be a good fit. Serving in some ways as Britain's answer to Captain America, Captain Britain has similar abilities but a very different backstory, which includes being given his powers by Merlin, the mysterious wizard. On another end of the spectrum, however, Craig may also make for an interesting MCU villain.

Concept art for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness does suggest that there is truth to rumors of Craig's Balder the Brave cameo and the actor would clearly be a welcome addition to the franchise. With the Knives Out movies allowing Craig to show off his more comedic side, the actor now seems even more like a good fit for a number of classic Marvel heroes or villains.
