A new 'Dance Mom' parody musical has added 'Titaníque' co-creator Tye Blue to its creative team.

Tye Blue, director and co-creator of the Tony-winning “Titaníque,” has joined the creative team of “The Pyramid: An Unauthorized ‘’ Musical”, a new parody written by longtime “Dance Moms” fans James Stryska, Isabel Grace, Erica Molfetto and Molly Russo.

The original musical is being led by lead producer Logan Clark, whose career spans more than 15 years across television, music, live entertainment and theatrical production. V/H/S Franchise Sets New Roy Lee and Steven Schneider-Produced Movie Based on SCP Foundation Universe Clark was a member of the original “Dance Moms” production team during the series’ early run. A Kickstarter campaign for the musical launched Monday to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the Lifetime series’ premiere.

Blue will advise and lead the writing team in their ongoing workshop process, pulling upon his development expertise in both musical comedy and commercial theater.

“The Pyramid” was originally conceived by Stryska and Grace, who posted a simple idea online: “We think ‘Dance Moms’ should be a musical. ” The video quickly exploded, generating more than 5.6 million views and drawing enthusiastic responses from fans, theater artists and members of the “Dance Moms” community itself.

“Our goal has always been to bring the experience of watching an episode with your friends into a completely new medium,” Stryska, Grace, Molfetto and Russo said in a statement Monday. “We’ve packed the show with the kind of moments you would swear came straight out of television while building an entirely new story for the stage. ” Clark’s company, The Casting Collective, is spearheading a nationwide search for the singers, dancers and performers who will originate the production.

Supporting the show’s development is Daisy Theatricals, the New York-based development collective founded by Randall and Allyson Jane Simmons.

“There is something incredibly special about watching four writers take something they genuinely love and build an entirely new theatrical world from that shared experience,” Clark said. “James, Isabel, Erica and Molly understand this audience because they are this audience. My job is to help protect that vision, assemble an exceptional team around them and help build ‘The Pyramid’ into the biggest, boldest and most entertaining production it can be.
