“Some of our Nowadays family are in an incredibly vulnerable place,” Carter says. “There are about 60 people who rely on us in some way for regular income, and so as we’ve been figuring out who’s getting what money, we’ve been prioritizing marginalized groups.
What began as live solo sessions from the Nowadays space have since—for safety reasons in our social distancing moment—moved to DJs’ homes . New schedules for the week are posted on theFar from just making do, the changing nature of the streamed sessions—now, presumably, being consumed solo, or in very small groups gathered anywhere around the world instead of packed into Nowadays a few hundred at a time—have inspired some new thinking.
“At the same time, it seems clear to me that something has been lost already,” Carter says. “The scene that I’ve known and engaged with for pretty much all of my adult life is going to be really different on the other side of this, and that makes me really sad. Dua Lipa Makes Us DANCEI’m physically gagging on all this future nostalgia: Dua Lipa, “Break My Heart” - If you’re going to heavily reference Giorgio Moroder, in the run-up to an album named Future Nostalgia, you better give the girls something brilliant. Unfortunately, the grand-daddy of disco covered light-years of the great, big sonic expanse throughout his career, which worked well for him, and not so well for miss Dua Lipa.
