A high wind...The Anchorage Hillside will likely see winds from the southeast of 40 to 50 mph, with gusts as high as 80 mph. Southwest and East Anchorage, along with the higher elevations of Eagle River should be prepared for southeast winds of 35 to 45 mph and gusts of 55 to 65 mph. The rest of Anchorage and Eagle River will see winds to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph.
As of 9 p.m., peak gusts of 44 mph were recorded at Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage while the Anchorage Hillside saw wind gusts to 57 mph.9:10 pm: There is a large outage in the area of Huffman/Lower Hillside impacting 3,000 members.
